  11. the  passion  and  devotion to modules

  16. collection of modules. That  is  truly
  17. all you need. Then  you  can  find the
  18. module that suits  the mood you are in

  29. I am sure that some (not sceners)  are
  30. aware of  this  already  and they have
  31. used music for ages  to  enhance their
  32. emotions. If you  are sad  and  listen
  33. to a melancholic  module, you  can  be
  34. sure that your emotion will  not  fade
  35. away, but stay and in some  cases even
  36. be  enhanced  and  the  same  goes for
  37. happiness. »CL6:So  why  not  use  a great,
  38. cheap tool like music  instead of  all
  39. these  pills»CL1:.  (Or  what  do  you say,
  40. Darkhawk?)
  41. So  after  ten  years  with  the Amiga
  42. platform  and   after   thousands   of
  43. modules, why now? I  do  not  know.  I
  44. guess  that  »CL7:I  never  really  thought
  45. about it  until  now.»CL1:  Maybe  I  never
  46. really  cared  about   it,  because  I
  47. always had four-channel  music  around
  48. me. So I never learned to  respect the
  49. power of music. However, »CL8:I can  assure
  50. you  that a HD  crash make such things
  51. really clear»CL1:! It is just  like a drug,
  52. if  you  do  not  have  it.  Then  you
  53. really want it.

  55. Sure, I  tried  to  listen to  some of
  56. these modern CDs. And remember, we are
  57. talking   about  real CDs,  not  MP3's
  58. (»CL6:030 Rules»CL1:). However, I could not feel
  59. the beat in those songs. They  were to
  60. fancy  for  me,  I  guess.   To   many
  61. channels, Too much everything. What do
  62. you do? You  go get  some  really  old
  63. techno CDs  and   see   if   there  is
  64. anything  on them! And  I  got  lucky!

  66. Then it hit me! Okay, it hit one of my
  67. friends :) and »CL8:he asked me if I really
  68. liked  that  kind   of  noisy   music!
  69. I answered: "Yes of course, it is  the
  70. best." He  said: "But it  sounds  like
  71. old C64 music, noisy and loud"»CL1:. It was
  72. then I  realized  that  I  am  a  very
  73. special person who has  something that
  74. not many people have on this planet! I
  75. have taste, and in my opinion  a  good
  76. one, even  though  I  know  that  many
  77. people   say    that   I   am   crazy.

  79. Sure  this  might  be  true, because I
  80. have said and done some really  stupid
  81. and crazy things in my past.  But  the
  82. fact is  that  I  have a collection of
  83. music that makes  me feel  better  and
  84. that is the most important thing after
  85. all.  SID, ATX, MOD, DBM,  MP3, XT  or
  86. whatever the format.

  88. But, this article is for sceners and I
  89. think that most sceners has some  kind
  90. of module collection, some bigger than
  91. others. »CL8:Try to take  a  closer look on
  92. those modules you choose to  play next
  93. time and try  to  compare  them to the
  94. mood you are in at the time»CL1:. I am sure
  95. that you  will  find  some  points  of
  96. resemblance.
